Hello and welcome to the wonderful world of marine aquaria. Perhaps you found your way here through a web search or maybe a kind friend. So you are probably expecting me to dive in and tell you everything there is know about saltwater aquariums. Before I do that I would like to take a moment to introduce myself.

My name is Jacob Hagberg and I currently live in Minnesota. I have been fascinated with fish as far back as I can remember. My first aquarium was a ten gallon freshwater community, which had various types of tetras and barbs. One year for Christmas, I received a twenty-nine gallon aquarium and set it up for South American cichlids. Sometime during fifth grade, I graduated to a saltwater aquarium with help from my local fish store and other saltwater mentors. Eventually, I became obsessed with saltwater aquaria and wanted to learn more. Along the way, I made many mistakes, which I hope to help you avoid. I am also a member of the Twin Cities Marine Aquarium Society and encourage all hobbyists to find or start a local reef club. Through the club, I have made many new friends, gained new knowledge, and advanced my reefkeeping ability.

Well, enough about me, now to the good stuff.
